Washington, D.C.: American Global Strategies LLC announced today that Allison Hooker, former Deputy Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Asian Affairs at the White House’s National Security Council (NSC), has joined the firm as a Senior Vice President. Ms. Hooker will lead the firm’s Indo-Pacific practice and work with clients across the defense, maritime, manufacturing, private equity, technology, and non-profit sectors. Previously, Ms. Hooker served as a Senior Advisor to AGS before joining the firm fulltime.

O’Brien, Chairman of AGS. “The insights Allison has gained from more than 20 years in Federal service, including in the Intelligence Community, at the State Department, and at the White House, will provide exceptional benefit to AGS’ clients. During her tenure as Senior Director for Asian Affairs at the NSC, Ms. Hooker led the coordination and implementation of U.S. policy toward the Indo-Pacific region, and coordinated policy approaches with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific and Europe. Prior to that, Allison served as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for the Korean Peninsula, where she focused on U.S. policy toward the Koreas. Before her service at the White House, Allison was a senior analyst for North Korea in the Department of State’s Bureau of Intelligence and Research from 2001 to 2014. Ms. Hooker was the 2013-2014 Council on Foreign Relations International Affairs Fellow in South Korea. She is a graduate of the George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs and has studied at Keio University and Osaka University in Japan.
