Vice Chairman

The Honorable Chad Wolf serves as Vice Chairman at American Global Strategies. Mr. Wolf brings expertise from the highest levels of government to AGS’ homeland security and national security work. In this role, he advises clients on border and immigration policy, counterterrorism, cybersecurity, transportation security, emergency management, and international engagement.

Mr. Wolf also serves as chair for Homeland Security, Immigration, and Western Hemisphere policy at the America First Policy Institute, Senior Advisor for the Protecting America Initiative, and sits on the National Security Advisory Boards for a leading American drone manufacturer and professional services firm.

From 2019 to 2021, Mr. Wolf served as Acting Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the third-largest department in the U.S. federal government and the world’s largest law enforcement organization. In this position, Mr. Wolf oversaw an annual budget of approximately $47 billion, managed over 260,000 employees in 22 operating components and agencies, including the fifth branch of the Armed Services, the U.S. Coast Guard, and directed operational, policy, and legal matters related to homeland and national security, counterterrorism, immigration, border and transportation security, emergency management and cybersecurity.

Previously, Mr. Wolf helped stand up the Transportation Security Administration shortly after the tragic events on 9/11 and its subsequent integration into DHS in 2003. Prior to his appointment as Acting Secretary, Mr. Wolf held increasingly senior positions at DHS, including Assistant Secretary, Under Secretary and Chief of Staff.

Mr. Wolf is a nationally recognized expert on a broad range of national security issues, frequently appearing on national and cable news outlets, testifying before Congress, and writing extensively. Mr. Wolf has guest lectured at the National Defense University and routinely speaks to various student government groups across the country.

Mr. Wolf is the recipient of the U.S. Secretary of Transportation 9/11 Medal, the U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Distinguished Service Medal, and the National Intelligence Distinguished Service Medal.
