General Lee K Levy II
Senior Advisor
Lee K. Levy II serves as Senior Advisor at American Global Strategies. General Levy brings distinguished military leadership and expertise in national and international security policy, defense acquisition, sustainment, logistics, global supply chains, advanced manufacturing, strategic deterrence, and joint and multinational military operations to AGS’ defense and national security work.
During his final general officer assignment with the U.S. Air Force, General Levy served as Commanding General of the Air Force Sustainment Center, Air Force Materiel Command. In this role, he led the organization responsible for worldwide logistics, supply chains, sustainment, maintenance, modification, repair, and overhaul of U.S. Air Force, other U.S. military, and allied aircraft, space, and cyber systems. He oversaw a global enterprise of approximately 43,000 personnel across 73 locations and held responsibility for the sustainment of major air, space, cyber, and nuclear deterrence systems.
General Levy previously served as the second-most senior uniformed logistician in the Department of Defense, advising the Director and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on logistics planning and execution for global joint operations. His work included supporting the U.S. response to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, developing Department of Defense response options following Russia’s seizure of Crimea and invasion of Ukraine, and overseeing the commercial cargo ship conversion program used in the destruction of Syrian chemical weapons.
He also served as Director of Logistics for Air Mobility Command, with responsibility for the readiness of the Department of Defense’s air refueling, air cargo, and aeromedical evacuation fleets, as well as Air Force One and other VIP platforms. Earlier, he commanded the 402nd Maintenance Wing, leading more than 10,000 airmen in sustaining several of the U.S. military’s principal aircraft fleets. His career included multiple combat deployments, four joint assignments, and three assignments in the Pentagon, including during the September 11 attacks.
General Levy serves as an independent director on several corporate and nonprofit boards and is a nationally certified corporate director through the National Association of Corporate Directors. He serves on the Board of Directors of the National Defense Industrial Association and chairs its Logistics Management Division. He has also served on the NASA Advisory Council and the Oklahoma Aerospace and Autonomous Systems Council and is a Senior Non-Resident Fellow at the Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies.
General Levy earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Louisiana State University, a graduate certificate in systems management from the University of Southern California, a Master of Science in International Relations from Troy State University, and a master’s degree in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College. His executive education includes programs at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.
