Nick Warner
Senior Advisor
Nick Warner serves as Senior Advisor at American Global Strategies. Mr. Warner brings expertise from the highest levels of Australian government, intelligence, defense, diplomacy, national security, and Indo-Pacific affairs to AGS’ international and national security work.
Mr. Warner is a highly experienced former Australian government official who most recently served as Director-General of the Office of National Intelligence, Australia’s principal intelligence agency reporting directly to the Prime Minister.
Previously, Mr. Warner served as Director-General of the Australian Secret Intelligence Service from 2009 to 2017, Secretary of the Department of Defence from 2006 to 2009, and Senior Adviser for International Affairs to the Prime Minister from 2005 to 2006.
During his diplomatic career, Mr. Warner led Australia’s interagency Emergency Response Team in Iraq and served as Special Coordinator of the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands. He also served as Australian High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea, Ambassador to Iran, Deputy Head of Mission to the Australian Permanent Mission in Cambodia, and in diplomatic postings in Namibia and Rhodesia.
