Robert Swope
Senior Vice President
Robert Swope is a Senior Vice President at American Global Strategies and co-leads the firm’s Defense, Intelligence & National Security Practice. He advises clients on national security, defense acquisition, and industrial base issues, helping them optimize their acquisition strategies while guiding them through the evolving national security and defense innovation landscape.
Prior to joining American Global Strategies, Robert served with the U.S. Army’s Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office, where he supported efforts to rapidly prototype advanced capabilities for the Army.
From 2017 to 2019, he served in the Office of the Secretary of Defense where his portfolio included policy work related to munitions, autonomous weapons, civilian casualties, and international humanitarian law.
Robert began his career as an Army Infantry officer and deployed twice to Iraq during his military service.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Government from Georgetown, a Master’s degree in International Development Policy from Duke University, an International Diploma in Humanitarian Assistance from Fordham University, and a Graduate Certificate in International Affairs from Texas A&M University.
