- This memo directs the heads of executive departments and agencies to review all funding that agencies provide to NGOs. The heads of agencies shall align future funding decisions with the interests of the United States and with the goals and priorities of my Administration, as expressed in executive actions.
- Presidential Proclamation: Adjusting Imports of Steel into The United States
- This proclamation closes existing loopholes and exemptions to restore a true 25% tariff on steel and elevate the tariff to 25% on aluminum.
Head of State Visits
- On February 4, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with President Trump at the White House in what was the first foreign visit of the new Trump administration. Trump and Netanyahu discussed the ceasefire in Gaza, threats from Iran, and the U.S.-Israeli alliance.
- On February 7, Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba met with President Trump at the White House where the two leaders held a joint press conference. In a joint statement following the visit, the leaders expressed continued support for bilateral security and defense cooperation and continued Japanese investment in the U.S.
- On February 11, the King Abdullah II of Jordan met with President Trump at the White House where they participated in a bilateral meeting. A key issue discussed was President Trump’s proposal for post-war reconstruction of Gaza.
- On February 13, Indian Prime Minister Modi met with President Trump for a series of bilateral meetings.
Bills Signed
- On January 29, President Trump signed the “Laken Riley Act,” which requires the Secretary of Homeland Security to take into custody illegal immigrants who have been charged in the United States with certain crimes.
Major Announcements & Accomplishments
- Secretary of State Rubio traveled to Panama where he successfully pushed for Panama to end its infrastructure investment relationship with China and discuss improving U.S. access to the Panama Canal.
- Vice President Vance participated in the Paris AI Summit where he addressed world leaders about U.S. efforts to continue to lead in AI development.
- President Trump reached an agreement with Venezuela to accept the deportation of illegal immigrants from the U.S.
- Vice President Vance addressed the Munich Security Conference in Germany, speaking about the transatlantic Alliance and need for changes to the European security arrangement.
