Rob Pierce is a Vice President at American Global Strategies LLC.
Rob served seven years on active duty as a U.S. Navy Intelligence Officer and continues to serve in the Navy Reserves. He deployed twice with a West Coast based SEAL Team, first to Kirkuk, Iraq, where he was the Director of Intelligence for TRIDENT 1324, a Special Operations Task Force focused on counter-ISIS operations. He later served as the Director of Intelligence
for Naval Special Warfare Task Unit Indo-Pacific, based in Guam, where he supported forward-deployed operations aligned with the U.S. strategic competition with China.
He then served at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), first as a Branch Chief in the Deputy Directorate for Global Integration, where he led a team supporting global crisis response efforts, and then as a Military Capabilities Analyst in the China Mission Group, where he supported senior leaders on Indo-Pacific defense priorities.
While on active-duty, he also worked in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Legislative Affairs, where he supported the Intelligence and Research (INR) bureau’s engagement with Congress, advancing interagency coordination on intelligence policy and oversight matters.
His military awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal (2), the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2, including one with Combat “C” device), the Combat Action Ribbon, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, among others.
Prior to joining the military, Rob worked on Capitol Hill for U.S. Senator Rob Portman, serving as Press Assistant and then Deputy Press Secretary. In those roles, he supported the Senator’s legislative messaging, media engagement, and digital communications strategy.
He is a graduate of several national security fellowships, including the Wilson Center Foreign Policy Fellowship, the Heritage Foundation Congressional Fellowship, the Foreign Policy Initiative Congressional Scholars Program, and the American Enterprise Institute Summer Honors Program.
Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Rob earned his Bachelor of Science in Political Science, magna cum laude, from Wake Forest University and his Master of Arts in Security Studies from Georgetown University, where he graduated with distinction.
