Marina has held a broad range of policy roles across the U.S. Government for nearly a decade, focusing on the intersection of national and economic security. Before joining AGS, she served as a Policy Advisor at the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Investment Security. There, she managed international engagement for the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and advanced Treasury policy and regulatory objectives related to inbound and outbound investment security.
Prior to Treasury, Marina spent almost five years on the National Security Council staff, serving in the International Economics directorate, the Office of the Legal Advisor, and the Africa Affairs directorate. She previously served at the U.S. Department of State as special assistant to the Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security. Marina began her government service at the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration. There, she worked for the Assistant Secretary for Global Markets and Director General of the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service and the Assistant Secretary for Industry and Analysis.
Marina graduated cum laude from Princeton University with an A.B. in history and a certificate in History and the Practice of Diplomacy. She was a matriculated visiting student in the Department of History at Oxford University’s Oriel College.
