Anna Gustafson is a Research Associate at American Global Strategies, where she supports
client work on strategic competition, U.S. defense sustainment, and national security analysis.
She brings experience in defense research, AI-enabled analysis, legislative work, and political
campaigns.
Prior to joining American Global Strategies, Anna served as a Research Assistant at The
Heritage Foundation, where she managed TIDALWAVE, a large-scale AI-enabled simulation
designed to assess America’s anticipated shortfalls in projecting and sustaining forces in a
protracted conflict with China and to identify adversary vulnerabilities. She briefed cabinet
officials, Members of Congress, the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board, and numerous
U.S. and allied flag and general officers on the effort.
Anna also led a team that developed analytical workflows to filter, sort, and identify key
information through structured, multi-agent analysis combining quantitative methods with
human verification. Her experience also includes legislative work in the Florida House of
Representatives and involvement in Indiana statewide political campaigns.
Her writing and analysis have been published in The Daily Wire, The Daily Signal, The
National Interest, RealClearDefense, and The Washington Times, among others.
Anna earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of South Florida,
graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
