Washington, D.C.: American Global Strategies LLC announced today that Elbridge A. Colby, former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Strategy and Force Development, is joining the firm as a Senior Advisor. Mr. Colby will work with the firm’s clients across the defense, aerospace, technology, maritime, and private equity sectors.

While at the Pentagon from 2017-18, Mr. Colby served as the lead official in the development of the 2018 National Defense Strategy, a historic effort to reorient U.S. defense policy toward Great Power competition. Colby’s extensive government service across two decades include roles in the Defense and State Departments, blue ribbon government commissions, and the intelligence community. Colby is the author of Strategy of Denial: American Defense in An Age of Great Power Conflict from Yale University Press, and is widely published in leading newspapers and foreign policy journals both in the United States and abroad. Mr. Colby is a graduate of Harvard College and Yale Law School.
