Robert Greenway is a Senior Vice President at American Global Strategies, where he advises clients on defense strategy, intelligence-related risk, and international security, with additional focus on the Middle East and North Africa. He brings more than 30 years of experience in public service, national security, intelligence, and special operations.
Prior to joining American Global Strategies, Rob served as Director of the Allison Center for National Defense at The Heritage Foundation and as President and Executive Director of the Abraham Accords Peace Institute. He previously served as Deputy Assistant to the President and Senior Director of the National Security Council’s Middle Eastern and North African Affairs Directorate, where he was responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing U.S. government policy across the Middle East and North Africa.
During his time at the National Security Council, Rob was a principal architect of the Abraham Accords and helped develop U.S. strategies related to Iran, Syria, Iraq, Libya, Lebanon, and Israel. He also coordinated implementation of a comprehensive strategy with an international coalition to defeat ISIS, resulting in the liberation of more than 20,000 square miles of territory and the elimination of ISIS leadership in Syria and Iraq.
Earlier in his career, Rob served as a Senior Intelligence Officer at the Defense Intelligence Agency, where he supported U.S. Central Command and deployed to Afghanistan as a senior intelligence advisor to U.S. and coalition commanders. He is also a combat veteran and retired U.S. Army Special Forces and Special Missions Unit officer with six combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, including the invasions of both. He commanded Special Forces units from team through battalion level and helped establish the Iraqi Counterterrorism Force.
His civilian and military honors include the Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service, the David Rist Prize, the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, and numerous additional intelligence, defense, and military awards.
Rob holds a Master of Arts with honors from Webster University and a Bachelor of Arts from the Virginia Military Institute.
